Mike O'Neale

Consultant

Mike has been a "Mountie" since 1981. He enjoys the interests of his family, as well as jet skiing, snow skiing and cycling the Mount streets in his lycra.

Legal expertise

When Mike left school, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do, but he knew he didn't want to go to work. He decided to attend University and study a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History and English with the idea originally of becoming a secondary school teacher. Mike then changed direction and completed a Law degree while working for the Government part-time.

When he graduated, Mike moved to New Plymouth for some years before moving to Mount Maunganui in 1981. He has been a "Mountie" ever since.

Mike works with trusts and estate planningbusiness structures, and property and conveyancing. He specialises in land development and he has worked alongside many local developers, completing complex and difficult subdivisions and unit title developments. Mike attends many events, keeping him at the top of his field. He often helps with education within the firm, sharing his knowledge and experience.

The last few years have seen a huge amount of growth and change in the Bay of Plenty. Mike's practice has moved with these changes and has created a wealth of local knowledge to the benefit of all members of our firm.

In his time away from work, Mike enjoys the interests of his family – his wife, a daughter and grandchildren in Auckland, a son, who is a lawyer in Christchurch (a chip off the old block, perhaps) and a daughter who has recently finished high school in Tauranga.

As time permits, Mike also enjoys jet skiing and snow skiing and can occasionally be seen in lycra, on his road bike around the streets of Mount Maunganui.
