It’s officially summertime.

Which means it’s time to dust off the surfboard, drag the BBQ out of the garage and squirt on a decent dollop of sunscreen.

With all things summer calling, we thought we’d sign off this newsletter by asking some of our staff about their summer plans.

What do you love about a classic Kiwi summer?

Jocelyn Holten – Administration Manager: “The thing I love most is spending time with family.”

Kathryn Esterman – Solicitor: “A classic Kiwi summer isn’t complete without swimming in the ocean.”

Caro Richards – Practice Manager: “I love boating, swimming, BBQs, and enjoying time with family and friends in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.”

Nick Earl – Director: “Summer means swimming at the beach, BBQs, ice creams from the dairy, cricket on TV, good weather and the iconic red flowers of our Pohutukawa trees.”

Denise Arnold – Director: “I cherish everyone coming together and the whole vibe of generosity and goodwill. It’s very heart-warming.”

Doug Lyon – Director: “For me the classic Kiwi summer represents relaxing and unwinding after the end of another busy year.”

Simon Gyenge – Solicitor: “You can’t go past the beach and the weather.”

What do you have planned for the Christmas break?

Jocelyn Holten – Administration Manager: “Lawn bowls, lawn bowls and more lawn bowls.”

Kathryn Esterman – Solicitor: “I’m off to Vietnam for two weeks.”

Caro Richards – Practice Manager: “This year I am off to celebrate Christmas in Perth, as my daughter is expecting her first child in early January.”

Nick Earl – Director: “An early Christmas with my wife's family from 21 December and then we are heading to Umina, north of Sydney, for Christmas with Mum’s side of the family. I’m also looking forward to catching some international cricket at Bay Oval in January.”

Denise Arnold – Director: “You’ll find me walking on the beach at Whangamata and lots of family time.”

Doug Lyon – Director: “I’ll be holidaying with friends, sailing and plenty of time spent at the beach.”

Simon Gyenge – Solicitor: “This year I will be spending Christmas with my fiancée’s family in the Northern Beaches, Sydney (hopefully not melting).”

Whatever you have planned for the festive season, the team at Lyon O’Neale Arnold wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable Christmas, and a New Year full of promise.
